A welcome message from the Chairman – Keith Doyle

A warm welcome to the Coleshill & District Social Club which has had its roots established in Coleshill for a considerable number of years. As elected Chairman for a number of years, I’m proud to introduce you to the Club and avail you of its facilities - hoping you may consider visiting us to see exactly what we have to offer. Even in these days of austerity, I’m pleased to introduce you to a healthy, growing Club with a firm established base in the town of Coleshill.

My responsibility as Chairman

The business activities of the Club are the responsibility of an elected Management Committee (9 in total) comprising of the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and 5 others. Elected annually by its membership, the Committee make day to day decisions on the business and lesiure activities of the Club with the Secretary being the DPS (Licensee) a position required under licensing legislation. The Secretary is the only salaried position within the Management team therefore an employee position within the Club. As the elected Club Chairman I have a variety of responsibilities including overseeing Management meetings, influencing best practice and effective planning decisions, co-ordinate and ensure effective decisions are made for the overall benefit of Club business.

A very brief history lesson

The Club was established many years ago and moved to its current location from a site which houses new flats next to the Bell Inn on the nearby Birmingham Road. Having moved to its current location (which was previously an old school house) over the years it became an established social venue for the community of Coleshill.

Where we are now

As time moved on the Club grew and saw the building expand resulting in the development of a large ground floor Concert Room - now known
as the De Mountford Suite, and a snooker room with 3 full size match tables both of which adjoin the original school building. The extension also included smaller rooms on the first floor including a smaller meeting/social room – now known as the Parkfield Suite, with its own independent
bar and toilet facilities.

What was the old school building currently houses the members lounge comprising of its own lounge bar, the adjoining snooker room previously mentioned (3 match size tables) and a small snug where some of the buildings original architectural features are still evident. The De Mountford Suite is the largest of our concert rooms where we operate a comfortable capacity level of 160 persons (200 max) and the smaller 1st floor Parkfield Suite a comfortable capacity level for 80 persons (100 max). Details of room hire, cost etc are outlined by in our Secretary’s blog further on. Each of these rooms have ample seating/tables and have their own independent Bars. The De Mountford Suite has also has a large stage area.

What we can offer

The Club is the only one of its kind in Coleshill and whilst having healthy competition from a variety of other licensed premises & Hotels it is quite unique in terms of what it can offer to the local community. We have the cheapest beer in Coleshill and have a number of experienced Staff to make sure you are served in a warm and friendly atmosphere
We also have a very well established and experienced Entertainments Section who manages Club entertainment for the benefit of its members and visitors alike. We have an exceptional number of acts already booked for the forthcoming year – more information will be available on this site and via other forms of advertising.

The De Mountford and Parkfield rooms are available to hire for a variety events including Wedding Receptions, Birthday’s and Anniversary’s, Funeral wakes, Business meetings. Details of pricing, Contracts etc can be found further on under Secretary’s blog Sport

The Club whilst having 3 match sized snooker tables has other sports sections including an Angling Section and a large (crown) bowling green with well established male & female sections competing in a variety of league competitions including the Warwick & Worcester Bowls league. To be a member of any of these sub sections you must be a full paid up member of the Social Club.
The members lounge and snug has 3 large screen televisions – a focal point for live football with the option of a large screen that can be utilised in the De Mountford Suite on ‘interesting’ local encounters that may involve our local sides !

Other Activities

Slimmers World, Zumba Dancing and Indoor Bowls are just a few of the many other activities available Families and Children The Club is committed
in reviving and encouraging the family feel. Children are very much welcome – especially to many aspects of our Social functions. Children are also welcome to accompany parents in the members lounge but of course because of our licensing obligations there are some rules that we have
